Grace Akers

Grace Susan Akers died April 12, 2015. She was 16 years old.

Grace loved playing her guitar, purple and pink, listening to Elvis and Patsy Cline, watching Bear in the Big Blue House, visiting her favorite turtles and birds at the parks and trails around her home, and horses and butterflies and Flik and Atta. She worked to teach the world about inclusion for people with disabilities, and she lived her life as a reminder about the message that "Everyone belongs." She promoted kindness and courage and tolerance, and she was a source of inspiration to people all over the world.
