Susana Parella Romero is the daughter of Catalan parents who went with their family to France during the Spanish Civil War. They stayed in France throughout World War Two and at its conclusion emigrated to Venezuela.

The hardships they endured in France strengthened them for what was to come when Susana was born with Moebius Syndrome in Caracas on July 9, 1957.

In her early years Susana was strong with courage, had a positive attitude, and loved life, despite the fact she was often rejected by others. She enjoyed spending time with her cousins at family events.

On July 9, 2010, in Caracas Susana published her first book about her life growing up with Moebius Syndrome.

Despite her condition Susana has been able to reach many of the goals she set for herself. She now travels around the world to teach others about her experiences with Moebius Syndrome. She hopes to help people achieve happiness and personal growth.
