Individual with Moebius Syndrome

Hi, my name is Megan Brown. I’m 25 years old and I live in Lebanon, Kentucky.

I was born with Moebius Syndrome. Growing up, I had a lot of challenges, but I’ve worked hard to overcome them.

Some of the things I deal with are trouble swallowing and trouble with speech. Sometimes I talk too fast without even realizing it. Even with these challenges, I’m proud that I’ve been able to meet other people with Moebius online. It makes me feel less alone knowing there are others out there who understand.

Most days, you can find me hanging out at my apartment, doing chores, or going to therapy. My dogs bring me the most happiness — they’re my best friends.

It’s not always easy. Sometimes it’s hard to communicate because people don’t always understand me. But I try to keep going and not let it stop me.

If I could share one message with others, it would be this: It’s okay to be different.
