My name is Sandie, I’m 35 and I live in upstate NY. I was born in 1985 and doctors told my parents I would basically be a vegetable forever. Luckily my parents had bigger and better dreams for my life. I had an NG tube, PT, OT, speech therapy and more doctors visits than any kid deserves in my early years. I was also bullied a ton in school and never truly felt comfortable in my own skin I’m STILL not totally comfortable but I’m closer than ever before. But the girl who was supposed to be a vegetable is now a registered nurse, very much mobile and capable of pretty much anything! I’m happily married with 2 beautiful “normal” kids, and have run 14 half marathons and 1 full marathon. #beattheodds #impossibleisnothing
